Parent Volunteer Program and Policy
Policy
The Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) allows parents/guardians to support the school through the use of their time, treasure, and talent. St. Bede relies heavily on the wonderful giving of time and support from our volunteers. The overall intent of VIP is to foster involvement in school life and provide opportunities for parents to develop lifelong friendships within our school family. Active involvement in the school contributes to the vitality of our school family and upholds the Catholic values promoted in the school curriculum.
For the 2023-2024 school year, each family is responsible for completing twenty (20) volunteer hours to be completed from July 2023 through June 2024. Volunteer hours can be earned through a variety of activities. Some examples include room parent duties, field trip chaperoning, serving on a committee, fundraising events, athletics coaching, and/or professional services (i.e., professional photography, graphic design, etc.; to be approved by the Principal). Volunteer hours required for Athletics commitments should not be applied to the 20 school volunteer hours. Families who do not complete the 20 hour requirement will have a $500 fee added to their FACTS account.

Volunteer hours will be monitored by a member of the Board of Specified Jurisdiction or designee.
To volunteer in any event with children present you must go through the Safe Environment process including VIRTUS training. Please see this link to begin and contact Karen Diedrich in the main office for further assistance and to get all the necessary forms.
