My philosophy of education incorporates elements from Choice Theory, Growth Mindset, and Flow. I believe all students can learn. I believe that being part of a Catholic School family and structure contributes significantly to the overall health and development of good, caring, loving, and hard-working people. The connections our students make with each other last throughout their lives.

This school year marks my 23nd year as a classroom teacher. This is my 5th year as the 4th grade teacher at St. Bede School, and I am excited to work with a new batch of wonderful students. I have close to 20 years of experience teaching in schools for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and I am excited to help our students grow in their faith and learn from each other across the school year.
I believe in Catholic education! The development of a faith family and a school community is a highlight and a benefit of working as a Catholic school educator. My school families and my students have supported me across the years. I look forward to every day I spend with my students.

Fourth Grade students build on the foundation they built in third grade. Students become more independent learners. They grow in their faith and learn to participate more as part of the Church. They begin to develop executive skills that are essential for success - materials management, time management, and self-control. Students dive deeper into various styles of writing while exploring different genres, formats, and sources. Fourth grade students expand their knowledge of mathematics through more sophisticated strategies and operations.
