St. Bede School Volunteer Involvement Program
Policy
The Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) allows parents/guardians to support the school through the use of their time, treasure, and talent. St. Bede relies heavily on the wonderful giving of time and support from our volunteers. The overall intent of VIP is to foster involvement in school life and provide opportunities for parents to develop lifelong friendships within our school family. Active involvement in the school contributes to the vitality of our school family and upholds the Catholic values promoted in the school curriculum. This is also a great way to meet other parents that are part of the St. Bede family, and the students are also very proud when they see their parents involved and helping at their school.
For the 2018-2019 school year, each family is responsible for completing fifteen (15) volunteer hours to be completed from July 2018 through June 2019. Volunteer hours can be earned through a variety of fun school activities. Some examples include, but are not limited to, room parent duties, field trip chaperone, serving on a committee and participating in committee assigned projects, fundraising events, athletics coaching, and/or professional services (i.e., professional photography, graphic design, etc.; to be approved by the Principal). Volunteer hours required for Athletics commitments should not be applied to the 15 school volunteer hours.
It is the responsibility of each family to record volunteer hours on the VIP record sheet. Families who complete the volunteer hours and submit their form will be entered into a drawing to win a valuable prize donated by the Board of Specified Jurisdiction. Volunteer hours will be monitored by a member of the Board of Specified Jurisdiction or designee.
