We will not attend Mass Friday 8/28/20. Eigth grade has their Candle Ceremony that day and many parents want to attend this Mass.
Please be sure to send students with good fitting masks.

Please be sure to send your child to school with a water bottle. The water fountains are not available at this time. Students need a clean mask daily. Be sure they also have a spare one at school.
Students should be reading 10-15 minutes daily. They could be read to for now, as the school progresses they should start to be self reading.

A reminder to be sure your child has a bottle of water for school and extra masks to change when necessary. Your child may also bring hand lotion to school since we are washing hands often and the dry weather season is upon us. Please put the child's name on it. Remind them that they can not share their lotion with others. Same is true for some chapstick. Students received landyards this week to hold their masks. Students will use them at school only. We leave them on the desks at the end of the day. If a student looses their lanyard, there will be a five dollar charge for replacing it.

In math we continue our work with addition and substraction concepts. Please work with your students on their math facts. We are going to be finishing up Super Camp this week and move onto to Adventures of Superkids. Science we wrapping up on how scientists work and moving into sound and waves next. Finally in social studies we continue our study of communities.

Please continue working on memorizing addition and substraction facts. We are going to work on telling time in math this week. We will work on telling time to the hour and 1/2 hour. Please work with your child. If you have a analog clock at home, please encourage them to tell time using a analog clock or a watch.
We will finish taking our Superkids placement test on Monday and start our Adventures in Superkids. Please work with your child on the following memory words. (reading, spelling and writing them into a sentence) Even when you read with your child, have them find these words on the pages.

We just received our classroom set of Chromebooks this past week. I am working with the students on how to log in and use Seesaw, Savvas Math and Superkids for now. In the event we go remote, I am hoping to have the basics covered with the students so they may be able to log in independently.

It was great to finally meet parents viturally.
In math class we are continuing to work on telling time to the hour and 1/2 hour. Please continue telling time at home. We are continuing to work on Sound and Wave unit in science. We are exploring new stories in the Adventures of the Superkids. We are learning about nouns and pronouns and getting ready for our first spelling test. Remember to work on math facts, spelling words and nightly reading with your child.
Kindergarten through 4th students have been issued Chromebook devices as well as unique student Google accounts to use for logging into their Chromebook. They have been using their device and account at school for the last couple of months. Their device and charger will be sent home at the end of next week and are to be used for remote learning purposes only during the first two weeks of January. Prek-2nd grade lessons will be posted to their https://app.seesaw.me accounts and 3rd-4th grade lessons will be posted to their https://classroom.google.com accounts. Please return the loaner device when school resumes on Tuesday, January 19th.

Please remember to bring snowpants and boots for recess. Also the students may bring chapstick and hand lotion for the winter months. Students should also have a school sweatshirt or sweater for the classroom. Please be sure to have their name in their garments.

In ELA, we are continuing to follow the adventures of the Superkids gang. Please keep reading daily with your child. I am seeing the "reading switch" turn on for many of our students. This is exciting to see!
Math we continue our understanding of addition and substraction. Please work on their math facts.
Science we are continuing our understanding of patterns in the sky. Many had fun on our vitural field trip to the International Space Station.
Social Studies students are looking at what is all involved in Marketplaces.
Religion class we are learning about the Church Calendar and will start our Family Life Unit next.
