Ingleside, Illinois, October 1, 2018 – Saint Bede School has been named by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School. Saint Bede is one of 349 to receive this distinction this year.
“We are very proud to accept the Blue Ribbon on behalf of our academic team, the children, their parents and the members of the community who support us in action and prayer,” said Mrs. Patricia Strang, principal. “Saint Bede School is educating a new generation of leaders who understand their responsibility as global citizens to care for the earth and its inhabitants. Each day they grow in faith, wisdom and love.”
Saint Bede School has a rich history dedicated to embracing the needs of the faith community in the Chain O’Lakes area. The school draws its enrollment from twelve zip codes across two states. Students represent multiple ethnicities and varying socioeconomic statuses and encompass a variety of faith communities.
Saint Bede School was recognized under the category of “Exemplary School,” meaning these schools are among the state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will formally recognize these schools in an award ceremony on November 7th and 8th in Washington, D.C. https://www2.ed.gov/programs/nclbbrs/index.html
